Biography
Guitares incisives, rythmes effrénés, mélodies implacables et discours engagé, tels sont les mots d’ordre du quatuor punk-rock Hateful Monday. Formé à la fin des années 90 par Reverend Seb et Igor Gonzola, deux jeunes punk de la banlieue genevoise, le groupe pratique son mélange de punk mélodique et de hardcore féroce avec une constance irréprochable sur les scènes de France et de Suisse aux côtés des plus grands noms du genre (Bad Religion, Hot Water Music, Snuff, …)
Fort d’un line-up stable depuis 2004, renforcé par l’arrivée de Gr3g et du multifonctionnel Matt, le groupe a publié plusieurs EP et albums sur diverses structures locales dont le très apprécié Take a Breath sur Hannibal’s Records.
Le nouvel album du groupe, intitulé The Last March of the Ignorants (GPS Prod), contient 11 titres plus construits, précis et engagés que jamais. Que ce soit l’épileptique “I Suppose Chomsky’s Right” critiquant cyniquement le cirque politique actuel, répétant indéfiniment la phrase “I Believe in No Flag” (Je ne crois en aucun drapeau) ou le titre éponyme “The Last March of the Ignorants” qui dépeint la fin du monde tel que nous le connaissons, Hateful Monday possède la capacité d’ exprimer ses sentiments et son opinion des choses, mais sait également traiter de sujets plus vastes et plus légers (”Pawn of the Government) ou mélancoliques (”Go away”, “Take Decisions”).
Hateful Monday prouve une nouvelle fois qu’il maîtrise son sujet mieux que personne. Affûtez vos crêtes et vos skateboards…

Often called “the next big thing to come”, Hateful monday confirmed it again in 2006, with the release of The Last March Of The Ignorants on Swiss favorite independant label GPS Prod (Prejudice GVA, Guerilla Poubelle,etc.)
In March 2007, Unattractive records (Japan) released a new edition of Hateful Monday’s last album, with an exclusive bonus track!
The band shot a videoclip of this Bonus song “ 0,5 Mg Per Day” which is fantastic!
Opening for bands such as Bad Religion, The Toy Dolls, Hot Water Music, Snuff, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, or touring by themselves, Hateful monday always porve their ability to entertain the crowd, making them jump and sweat…
